Shikomizue is the name of a type of Koshirae or mounting, which
literally means "prepared stick". There was a blade placed in a
stick-like mounting, in order to conceal that it was a sword, for this
reason the Shikomizue became very popular in the Meji period
(1868-1912), when the carrying of Katana was forbidden.
The Shikomizue is constructed only by Japanese craftsmen in Gifu, not created by either non-Japanese labor or by mass production system: please allow us 3-4 weeks for the production.
*A zinc /aluminium alloy is not made for cutting or any action which involves any impact to another object. |
