This Samue features the Kanji “Ai” the same Kanji that a respected Busho (military commander) called Naoe Kanetsugu (1560-1620) used in his Kabuto.

The Kanji “Ai” means love but in this case represents the first letter of Aizen Myo-o, a God of love in which he believed and respected. This imposing Kanji is on the back and also is embroidered on the chest. A very nice and unique Samue.

  • Made of 100% cotton.
  • The pants are included.
  • Available only in navy.
Please note that it’s not printed on the Samue but featured in the back using the traditional technique called Bassen (discoloration technique) which consists in discoloring, removing the dye in details of the fabric leaving the shape of the design.

The Bassen is still being used in these days for putting the Kamon (family crest) on the Kimono.
