Fujin
(Wind God) is depicted as a strong
Kami
(God) shouldering a big cloth sack filled of many winds and
Raijin
(Thunder God) also as a strong
Kami
surrounded by several
Taiko
(drums) and having
Bachi
(stick) in each hand for making the rumbling of thunder. This Samue represents on the back the figures of these God, based on the well-known Japanese biombo “
Fujin Raijin Zu Byobu
”, “Wind God, Thunder God”.
Made with 100% cotton dobby fabric that features a loose but elegant weaving pattern offering a discreet and original touch to the whole Samue.
Made of 100% cotton.
The pants are included.

that it’s not printed
on the Samue but featured in the back using the traditional technique called
Bassen
(discoloration technique) which consists in discoloring, removing the dye in details of the fabric leaving the shape of the design.
The Bassen is still being used in these days for putting the
Kamon
(family crest) on the
Kimono
.
