Sunuke is a very rare and expensive wood obtained from the center core of old and rotten Isu wood. Only Isu core wood that has been dry for over 200 years has the color, hardness, solidness and superb balance which make this Sunuke Bokuto so highly appreciated in Japan among high ranked Sensei from different martial art schools.
The Sunuke had a very mystical background. In the old days, and even now in some parts of the Kyushu Island, the wood is considered as a good omen. It is called Furochoju No Ki, what means "perpetual youth and longevity tree". Regrettably due to difficulty in obtaining it, as time passes it becomes more expensive and more difficult to offer. Made entirely of one piece of genuine 100% Deluxe Sunuke from Kyushu Island, south of Japan. Hand made in Japan. Kenmine (Chevroned spine) Length: 101.5 cm *Average Weight: 690 g
*This is just a reference weight, not the exact weight of the Bokuto. Since it is made of natural wood and due the natural source of the product, the weight obviously varies.
*Since each product is made on the customer's request, please allow us 2-3 weeks for the accomplishing. Click to see our motto.
